maybe someone could help (not cooking, but German)

Okay, I know this isn't a cooking question, but it does pertain to Germany and I thought someone here might have some information for me. My dad was stationed in Germany about 35 years ago, and he brought home 13 beer mugs that he had gotten during an Oktoberfest celebration. They made the trip from Germany to the US unscathed, but they have not survived the family during the years. Well, two of them made it into my highschool years, and the last one was broken a couple of months ago by my cousin's girlfriend. My question is, does anyone know of a mail order site or catalog where I may be able to locate even one more of these? They were all tan-colored shiny ceramic, no decoration or anything, and some had white enamel on the inside. I think they held about 16 oz. or so. My dad absolutely adored these mugs and was heartbroken when the last surviving one was dropped (it was an accident, but what made it worse was that my dad doesn't care for my cousin's girlfriend very much). He would be so thrilled if I could find him even one more (he doesn't think that anyone will be able to find another because he says they were a limited run from a brewery, but I thought this was as good a place as any to ask). I'm hoping to be able to possibly locate something before July 19, since that's his birthday, but I'd still be interested even if I couldn't get it that soon. Please help!

I would check out Ebay for beer steins. I have no idea exactly what size/shape your mugs were but there are zillions currently up for auction at www.ebay.com

I also saw a stein dated to 1830 and a bunch of other neat ones. I did a search on Ebay for "beer steins" ... and had over 2000 results. It might take you a while to get thru them all the first time... but after that, checking back each day for new auctions wouldn't take nearly as long.

Thank you so much, both of you! The second picture looks exactly like the broken one. I don't know why I didn't even think of ebay either (I think I'm one of those odd people that never thinks of using ebay until someone points it out to me ). Either way, Dad will be so happy! Besides, I might even be able to find him a cool new one to go with the classic replacement (and the cousin's girlfriend has since moved out of the house, so she won't be breaking any more beer mugs ). Thanks again for coming to my rescue, in record time, no less!
