Sometimes when I bake cookies that include baking soda, my cookies come out tasting like the baking soda icon_sad.gif ! Does anyone know why?

Your recipe must be unbalanced (too much baking soda or not enough acidic ingredients to react the baking soda) or you're measuring out too much.
Edit: it could be you're using selfraising flour when you should be using allpurpose/plain flour. If that's the case, leave out the baking soda completely.

Is there any possibility your baking soda is picking up "off" tastes from where you store it?
