I have a 6-quart crock pot, and I find it is great if I want to make a very large batch of something but it's often too large for standard recipes. What is a good size for dinner for 2 adults or a small family (once the baby eats what we eat)?
    thanks,

I use a 3 quart for fiance and myself. There is usally plenty for both of us and sometimes a bit of leftover. I imagine this would be the perfect size for you 2 / 3.

We have a 6 quart as well. I do have the same problem, I seldom use it and often end up tossing whatever "goop" comes out. When something does come out good, I freeze the extra and when we feel like eating it again -usually a couple months later- I pull it out. I have even just sent leftovers to work with hubby and he puts it out share...

I also have a 1 1/2 quart. It is called a crockette. Actually, I am cooking it as I write. For 2 it is perfect. No leftovers.

Thanks for your responses. I look forward to cooking in a smaller crock! The smaller ones are trickier to find at good prices.

I'm in the same boat. I'd like a smaller one for my husband and I with a few leftovers for lunches...

Has anyone seen / used this one? Any suggestions on where / brand to get one?

I found one of the Chef website that looks to do quite a bit..

What you probably need is a 3 qt crockpot. You should be able to have a small amount of leftovers with that size. In the area where I live, it has become hard to find 3 qt crockpots, 4 qts seems to be the new standard. I took a look at THE MOTHER OF ALL CROCKPOTS you posted the link to... It looks really nice, but did you check the price on it? A 3 to 4 qt crockpot should not set you back more than $25 to $30. Actually, I got my 3 qt, nothing fancy, for $10 at around christmas time. It seems to run a little hot, but I will just work with it.
