i'm "re-posting" a request for beginner yeast bread recipes in this forum after starting out in a different one. I'm a little intimidated by the whole process although i have quite a bit of baking experience. could you recommend some recipes to try as i build my yeast bread baking skills? thank you ever so much!!!

this is a great basic white bread for you to try - Soft and Fluffy White Bread

the dough is very manageable, and easily made by hand.

I'll go track down the links to some yeast baking classes we've had here on Zaar in the past.

I'll primarily be making the bread by hand.

Thanks for the links, Reelani! Such a treat to get personal treatment from the chef of the day!! icon_biggrin.gif

LOL! I'm getting a kick out of that "title" today. I've heard from lots of folks on Zaar that I hadn't talked to in a long time.

I took a yeast baking class a few years ago through the local adult and community education program. Prior to that I had tried yeast baking a couple times but just wound up with a sticky, gloppy mess all over my counter. 5 weeks of class, one day a week, and I'm a yeast baker.

I read Mean Chefs class (mentioned above in RéeLani's post), he is very thorough and it is an informative class, hats off to Mean. You can also look into batter breads, they are usually easy to make and there is no kneading required. Batter breads are usually not quite as light and fluffy however. If you would like to try something different than regular white bread I have only 2 recipes posted here on Zaar and one is a batter bread and very easy to make, the other is a bubble loaf which requires kneading and shaping. Both do use a Bundt or tube pan.
