I am getting ready to have what is called a Progressive Party on July 23rd. (A Progressive Party is where you several couples get together and each couple serves a different part of the meal at their own house. For instance the first couple will serve drinks, the next couple will have appetizers, etc.) This year my husband and I are serving the main course. The theme of this years party is Hawaii, so everyone has to serve something Hawiian. I have no idea how to make any types of Hawiian Food and need to get some good recipes that are easy to make and don't take too long to prepare. Can anyone help?

I'm not familiar either. I did a quick check and Recipezaar has exactly 2 Hawaiian Main Course recipes.

So please, let's get some more in the database! icon_wink.gif

Susan - I'm not familiar with Hawaiian recipes/food, either. However, I happened to turn on the TV last weekend, & caught an episode of Emeril - he was on location in Hawaii! If you go to the FoodTV website ( & look up Emeril, you'll see that the show aired on 06/24/01, show #1EEMSP20 - and they list several recipes from the show.
    Hope that helps!

I did see the two recipes that Recipezaar had listed, but they weren't all that appealing to me. am still hopeful that I will recieve lots of response to broaden my options.

Since I'm from Hawaii but live in New Orleans, I miss some of the food from home. Here's one I like very much. We like it with sticky Oriental rice (or poi, which is fermented taro root which most people do not like upon tasting for the first time!). You can also check out The Electric Kitchin which is the Hawaiian Electric Kitchen's web site at Good luck!

Susan email me at and I'll send you a bunch. It takes me forever to copy stuff into this database. I know I have a lot of Hawaiian recipes in my database.
