  1. A good hearty dish to start the day. I wasn't so fond of the lemon in this, although I may have been heavy handed with it and added too much. Combined with my granny smith apple, I found I had to add quite a bit of brown sugar to mellow out the tartness. My mistake for using such a tart apple. I'd make again, only with a sweeter apple and less lemon. Otherwise I found the consistency was great, very creamy.

  2. I doubled this, left the skin on the apples and left out the butter. Swirled vanilla yoghurt through to serve and it was delicious. Made for Potluck Tag Game.

  3. I made it for my son and he liked it. He ate it with brown sugar on top. I tasted it and the taste is really good. I omitted the lemon juice and butter. Thanks Kelly :) Made for Potluck tag game

  4. Mmmm, creamy, thick, filling, healthy, fruity and yummy!!! What else could you wish for in your morning oatmeal?! I made this using a chai spiced oat milk, which worked out beautifully and added a lovely holiday taste. The apple made for a nice fruity sweetness in the dish, which I really enjoyed! I will surely make this often again as it is so easy and super yummy! THANKS SO MUCH for sharing this gem of a recipe with us, KellyMac! Made and reviewed for Potluck Tag Octobre 09.

  5. KellyMac - this is a nice change to morning oatmeal. I liked the texture of the apples in the oatmeal but the oatmeal itself it just a tad too thick for me - I think adding a bit more milk helps the consistancy. I added a sprinkle of brown sugar on top and also a sprinkle of cinnamon. A nice hearty breakfast that stays with you through the morning. Very tasty overall. Made for the Potluck Tag game
