  1. Excellent!! I will try a cookie scooper or ice cream scooper next time so that they are all the same size. My mom places an almond or pine nut in middle of cookie rather then the topping. Both delicious!! Thx

  2. Delicious! I didn't have any orange blossom water so I too used 2 tsp of vanilla. I sprinkled a little powdered sugar over them after they cooled for a few minutes. Thanks for a nice recipe.

  3. I just made these cookies last night, and I gotta say they are fantastic! I used vanilla instead of the orange blossom water, too. I also used a large cookie scoop to make the cookies uniform. I just pushed the dough into the scoop to form a shell, put the filling in and topped with a bit more dough. I plopped them out onto a sheet and baked them as directed. They came out perfectly shaped! Thank you for sharing this recipe!

  4. Oh wow...these were just wonderful cookies Canarygirl! I whipped them up this afternoon, and used 2 tsp vanilla as a replacement for the orange blossom water, prepared them as directed, that filling in the cookie is to die for! I might have put more than 1 tsp filling in each cookie, oh well, I don't mind LOL!!, I ended up making another batch of these, and I doubled the filling ingredients, so I could have more filling in the cookie... they were so delicious, I will send some home with my DS tonight...These were very simple to prepare with outstanding results, I just love this cookie, and look forward to making these again! thanks so much Canarygirl for sharing such a wonderful recipe...Kitten:)

Tweaks

  1. This was pretty good and extremly easy to put together! I made 1/4 of the recipe and the yield was 5 cookies. It's almost exactly like the cookie my mom makes with vanilla instead of orange blossom. She fills it with a little fruit jam sometimes, but this walnut mixture is very nice too. Thanks for the recipe, canarygirl!
