Havana Cooler

"Havana Cooler is a refreshing and popular rum-based cocktail that originated in Cuba. This version is from the Taste of Cuba website, which states it's from the Cocina Cubana Club. Ginger ale is the traditional mixer used for the Havana Cooler, but you can use Sprite or other lemon-lime carbonated soda in place of the ginger ale."

  1. Great simple and refreshing drink after a rough day. I didn't have any mint so I added lime. Made for ZWT9 and "The Apron String Travelers"

  2. What a nice drink! I usually like rum and coke, but this was really refreshing. I liked the touch of mint and I wasn't sure I would. I did use the lemon lime soda option because that is what I had on hand, but I'll try the ginger ale version too! Made for ZWT9

This site used to be awesome. It was at the top of its game when it was called Recipezaar, but that was many years ago. The site was purchased by Scripps and belly-flopped into mediocrity. A few of the faithful members remained, hoping to wait out the storm of corporate nonsense. But alas, it never got better and just continued on its terminal path to nothingness. So most of the loyal members have vanished and made homes at better recipe sites.
