Bananas and Cheesecake Dipping Sauce

"From Diabetic Cooking, a cookbook I received in the Cookbook Swap 2011. NOTE - makes 6 servings - 2 tablespoons sauce plus 1 banana each). VARIATION - substitute coconut extract for vanilla. You could also use other fruits but would change carb and nutritional guidelines."

  1. What a nice snack. This really hit the spot. Simple and tasty. Thanks Pat for sharing. Made for Went to the Market Tag.

  2. What a lovely, healthy treat! I used Weight Watchers creme fraiche and extra light cream cheese so there's no guilt! I've boxed the rest up to take to work tomorrow and will really look forward to it. Next time, I'm going to try 2Bleu's idea and use coconut extract!

  3. Made this as given, including using the optional nutmeg, & had a very satisfying dipping experience, but then, we love bananas & cheesecake, so . . . Will be making this one again, I know! Thanks for sharing the recipe! [Made & reviewed in Zaar Stars recipe tag]

  4. What a tasty treat! A great guilty tasting treat without actually making you feel guilty. With the use of the mini chopper / mix this cuts down to serve single serving extremely well. This is a good recipe to keep in mind for a quick snack. Thanks for the post.

  5. This was really good. I used banana extract for the dip to give more banana flavor. You could use coconut extract and have a pina colada dip too. This is a nice quick fix for snacking, thanks for sharing the recipe.

With the demise of the forums and with no more interaction on site with what was a great community and it was a pleasure to get to know so many of you over the years and to have had the privilege of meeting some of you in person. For me now this is just another recipe site like to many on the net, it has lost its specialness, such a pity especially when Scripps changed the name from Recipezaar to Food.com and made this statement sorry cannot replicate here as considered invalid but they basically said yes the community was valuable hence .com was short for community but it was a pack of lies as they were not willing to put the money into that community and got rid of the forums which was the community so for .com has become .crap.
