directions

  • Melt chocolate chips and butter in a saucepan on low heat or in the microwave (so it doesn't burn).
  • When melted, remove from heat, add sugar, flour, eggs and vanilla and mix no more than two minutes.
  • Pour into pie shell (I use a pre made store pie shell but you can use whatever you want) and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

  1. I'd highly recommend making this a day in advance. It is soooo much better the next day. We loved the rich brownie filling in this pie. It's really delicious and couldn't be easier to put together- 5 minutes and it's in the oven! That could be dangerous. I'd also like to point out that there is NO WAY this pie is done at 30 minutes. It's still raw brownie batter at that point. It needs 55 to 60 minutes like most brownie recipes do to get done. Oh... I also cut the sugar back to 1 cup cause it sounded like too much.

  2. Good and rich. COOK time is LONGER than stated. I cooked my pie for 1 hour and 10 minutes. The middle is still a little moist but good. I used a pre baked pie and took the recommendations from Realtor by day, Chef by night's advice by reducing the sugar a little. I would reduce it to one cup next time. I would recommend this dessert if you need to bring a dish to Bunco or a BBQ. So easy and good. ZWT7 Made for Count Dracula and His Hot Bites.

  3. What a luscious, decadent pie! Delicious, too! So simple and VERY rich, I made the mistake of cutting the first pieces a little large. You can really make the slices smaller than you think, as it is sooooo chocolate-y and dense. Thanks so much for sharing, sofie-a-toast!
