  • To prepare chile steak: in cup, mix chiles, garlic, honey, and lime juice.
  • In another cup, mix oregano, salt, and pepper. Use to rub on steak.
  • Heat pan until very hot. Place steak in pan; brush top half with chile mixture and cook. Turn steak over; brush with remaining mixture and cook 2-3 min for med-rare or until desired doneness. Turn again. Cook 30 sec. Transfer steak to cutting board; keep warm.
  • Meanwhile, prepare avocado-tomato salad. In bowl, mix tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Makes about 3 cups.
  • Thinly slice steak; serve with avocado salad.

  1. Delicious! This was perfect for a quick, summer meal. I used grape tomatoes, as they looked better at the grocery store than the cherry toms. And assuming the recipe is meaning to say "chipotle chilies in adobo sauce", everything else was made as directed. DH got out the deep fryer & tossed in some fries that I served with a dipping sauce to match the meal; chili sauce & thousand island dressing. The steak was pretty spicy but the avocado-tomato salad really balanced that out. We all enjoyed this recipe very much. Thanks for sharing, Abbs! Made for Zaar Chef Alphabet tag. :)
