Crock Pot Teriyaki Chicken

"A great recipe for the football crowd, potluck, or family get-together. In lieu of broiling, I often grill the chicken for the specified broiling time to avoid clean-up and heating the house up with the broiler. Another tip, dependent upon how much chicken you intend to make, I usually make enough sauce to almost cover the meat."

  1. this was yummy - i made it with chicken breasts, since that's all I ever have...i made a little extra sauce, and I'm glad I did, because it would not have been enough to cover the chicken if I hadn't...the picky boyfriend loved it :-)

  2. I couldn't really eat it, too sweet. It would be great it was slightly sweet with a savory flavor, but the sugar was a little overwhelming. It definitely has potential to be something I would eat in the future, but I would cut down on the sugar. Thanks for posting.

  3. This is good. I serve it with white rice and pour the juices over it. yummy!

  4. Very, very tasty. I'm usually not a fan of teriyaki, but this might change my mind. Served over rice, and the amount of sauce was just right. Oh, I did make mine with chicken thighs as we're not such fans of legs. Wish I had an indoor grill. I bet this would have been even better. Thnx for sharing your recipe, Scott. Made for PAC Fall 2009.

  5. Don't care if it is named shoyu chicken or teriyaki chicken. It was darn yummy chicken! We all loved it. Didn't make it in a crock pot, just grilled the legs on my Holland grill for about 10 minutes and then mixed the sauce in a foil pan, threw the legs in and covered with aluminum foil. Back on the grill for about an hour and the legs were fall apart tender. Served on rice and we all enjoyed. Thanks!

From the heart of Steeler Country, I have fun feeding family (2 young boys) and friends. Lots and lots of friends during the football season (I did mention Steeler Country right?). Happiness is a big brother to drive you where you need to go... <img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d65/simdog/SB029-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> I am partial to grilling and smoking (probably partly because it's an excuse to be outside) but enjoy all cooking except pastries and breads (I'm an expert in the art of making hockey pucks). I am an avid angler (trout mostly). I follow Steelers football and Penguins hockey religiously. The Pirates have sucked since I was a kid so baseball doesn't get any love in this family. :) I work as a technical consultant for a software company and my wife is a stay at home Mom. I only review recipes I like, so yes, I give out a disproportionate number of 5 star reviews. I don't see the value in bashing a recipe that just doesn't suit my taste. It doesn't benefit anyone. Thanks for checking out my AM page! <img src="http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/ZaarNicksMom/Animation6.gif"> <img src="http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/ZaarNicksMom/PACsticker-Adopted.jpg"> <img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Participation.jpg"> <img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Iwasadopted.jpg"> <img src="http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp340/northwestgal/zwtbanner-small-1.jpg"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/participantbannerzwt5.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">
