1. Made this for a second time this evening. I am amazed how little effort this is and how yummy it tastes. I have a strong dislike for fish, but now I am completely hooked on Halibut. It has pretty much no bones and this receipe is so easy to prepare that there is really no excuse not to eat well. I dipped the halibut into the melted butter and gentle rolled it in the bread crumbs that I already sprinkled with some salt, garlic and onion power. Put in the foiled lined pan for 25 min and served with rice and veggies. Pretty good stuff!

 2. As all the others said, this is a great and simple recipe. I made a few changes - instead of breadcrumbs I used panko. In the panko I added some herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano, etc), some dried chili flakes, garlic powder. I didn't sprinkle this on - I coated the halibut with the butter, and then coated it with the panko mixture. Once on the dish to bake in the oven I sprinkled it with grated parmesan. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g!! It definitely will be a staple dish!!!

 3. I rated this 5 starts for being a very tasty, very easy and very low risk way to prepare an expensive cut of fish. I've never made halibut filets before, and after searching though a number of recipes decided on this one. What a great choice. Even the thirteen year old who doesn't eat fish loved it! Changed nothing in the recipe.

As a side, we had one filet left, so I tried the Mexican Ceviche recipe with it, and that was a hit, as well! http://www.food.com/recipe/mexican-ceviche-8899
Thanks, MizzNezz!

 4. very tasty. Didnt have italian bread crumbs so I just added oregano pepper and onion powder to regular bread crumbs, along with the other suggested herbs, I this will go good with chicken too, thanks

 5. Made this for my husband's birthday today and it was very tasty, and incredibly easy. I didn't have Italian breadcrumbs, so I used panko and added some paprika and pepper, and two cloves of crushed garlic, the parsley, salt and pepper. I think I might have overcooked it at 25 minutes, but it was still quite delicious. Everyone ate every last bite on their plates, but my sister-in-law said she'd only give it four stars since it wasn't moist enough. Might have been the fish, or the length of time I cooked it. I really enjoyed.

 1. This was so fantastic that I ate a 1/2 pound serving by myself! :) I used half bread crumbs/ half almond meal (I like nutiness), I also used olive oil instead of butter and fresh chopped garlic. This was refreshing and wonderful for lunch! Thank you.

 2. Delicious and super easy! I make it with less salt and garlic instead of garlic powder.

 3. Great quick recipe! I used freshly caught striped bass instead of halibut. It was good! Crumb mixture browned nicely. Kids loved it with lots of lemon squeezed over.

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
