Before the beginning of the Holiday season (which for us starts around Halloween), my brother and I were reminiscing about the Baby Ruth cookies we ate as kids. I bought Baby Ruth bars the day after Halloween when they were on sale and today we finally got around to baking them! What a treat! I was going to post our family recipe, but yours is exactly the same except for two things: the dough is chilled and the recipe instructions call for "2 5¢ Baby Ruth Bars". :) I didn't chill the dough for the first half batch (we just couldn't wait that long!) although I am chilling the second half batch to see if there is any noticeable difference in the end product. I couldn't remember how these cookies tasted from my childhood, however now if I were to describe them, think of a yummy soft cookie with a toffee/"caramel-y" flavor throughout! Note: wait at least 10 minutes for the cookies to cool before transferring them to a wire rack. If you don't wait enough time, they will fall apart. We loved taking a stroll down Memory Lane with this cherished recipe! Thanks for posting it! PS> I used 6 ounces of the candy bars for a full batch. cg

I love Baby Ruth candy bars. One of my favorites! So I figured these cookies would be yummy. They were! However - I doubled the batch and it only gave me 36 cookies total. I don't make my cookies very big either. My kids ate these right up! Thanks for posting. Made as a pressie for the NZ/Aussie December recipe swap.
