Grandma Good's Cheerio Bars

"My grandma made these for years and came up with the recipe. I thought everyone made these but found out it was my grandma's recipe. They are SOOOOOOO goood!"

  • Mix Karo syrup and brown sugar together in heavy pan and cook just till it bubbles around edges.
  • Take off heat and add pb and stir good. Add cheerios and stir good.
  • Put in buttered 9x13 pan and press down real hard and even so they won't fall apart when you cut them. You can put in fridge to harden quickly or just let sit on the counter to cool.

  1. This was very good and very simple. I ended up substituting the brown sugar with honey and the Karo syrup with molasses, but it still came out amazing! Definitely something I plan to experiment more with in the future. Thanks for the recipe!
     
  2. I followed the recipe completely except after they had cooled I melted a bag of chocolate chips and a bag of butterscotch chips and frosted them with the molten deliciousness....these were a big hit with my work people....thank you sooo much Grandma Good!!!

  4. i too thought they were wonderful -- i used splenda brown sugar so it was not a sugar overload and let them cool in the same pot (analon) that i made them in -- they were so simple and easy to make -- thanks for sharing
     
  5. I thought these were very easy, and very tastey, however, for whatever reason, mine do not stay molded together. When I cut them into bars they crumble apart in my hands. Other than that though, I really like them, and will still make them again.
