"When I was a teenager I substituted blueberries for apples one day in one of my mom's recipes because my younger brother was begging for something sweet...and we had no apples. This is his favorite dessert!"

  1. i make this alllll the time, the recipe is so good! i usually mix blueberries and apples, it’s a great combo and blueberries can be quite expensive :s i usually make more of the topping and put in more oats and a tad more salt than it says in the recipe, just love oats. anyway, it’s a hit every time, whether i pair it with whipped cream, ice cream, custard, or eat it alone. everyone loves it! btw, for my metric peeps: 2 tbsp lemon juice, 100g sugar, 2 tsp cornstarch - 75g oats, 64g flour, 100g sugar, dash salt, 75g butter thank you so much for this recipe! :)

  3. Made this and really liked it, we added a touch of nutmeg, that really brought out the flavor of the blueberries. Thank you.

Tweaks

  1. I used smaller dishes for individual servings instead of one large pan. My family does not have the best portion control! I also doubled the toppings (it's my favorite part) and cut the sugar down by 1/3rd.
